God’s Nature: Who God Is

The foundation of all doctrine is the doctrine of God Himself. Everything else in Scripture flows from who God is.

Key Scripture

God is:

• One
• Spirit
• Eternal
• Self‑existent
• Unchanging
• Holy

God Is Spirit

• “God is a Spirit…” (John 4:24)
• He is not material, limited, or confined. He is invisible, omnipresent, and transcendent.

God Is Eternal

• “From everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” (Psalm 90:2)
• God has no beginning and no end.

God Is Self‑Existent

• “I AM THAT I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)
• God depends on nothing; everything depends on Him.
