How Apostolics Read the Bible

Apostolics usually understand Scripture through what they’ve lived, felt, and experienced in church. Our real moments with God shape how we read the Bible.

That means we interpret Scripture through things like:

• Deliverance experiences — times when God set us free from something
• Altar encounters — moments of crying out, breakthrough, or deep prayer
• Prophetic moments — when someone speaks a word that feels directly from God
• Spiritual warfare stories — testimonies about fighting temptation or the enemy
• Shared emotional memory — what our church has gone through together over the years

This is why Apostolic people often say:

“You can’t understand this unless you’ve lived it.”

They’re not wrong — the interpretive system is experiential, not merely intellectual.
