The Basis of Inerrancy: The Character of God
The truthfulness of Scripture flows from the truthfulness of God.
Key Scriptures
- “God… cannot lie.” (Titus 1:2)
- “Thy word is truth.” (John 17:17)
- “The words of the LORD are pure words…” (Psalm 12:6)
If God cannot lie, then His Word cannot lie. If God is perfect, then His Word must reflect His perfection.
To deny inerrancy is to imply that God is capable of error—an impossibility.
