The Process of Inspiration

God used human writers — their personalities, vocabulary, and historical context — yet ensured that what they wrote was exactly what He intended.

Characteristics of Biblical Inspiration

• Verbal — the very words are inspired, not just the ideas
• Plenary — all Scripture is equally inspired
• Supernatural — the Holy Spirit guided the writers
• Authoritative — what Scripture says, God says
• Inerrant — the original writings contain no error

Human Writers, Divine Message. The writers were not passive or unconscious. They wrote with full awareness, but under the Spirit’s direction.

This is why Scripture can be both:

• fully human in expression
• fully divine in origin

Just as Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the Scriptures are a divine‑human product without flaw.
